The name listed here was a literal translation as there was no English name on Google Maps. Hubby mentioned of going to a buffet. Last time in Chiang Mai we went to Ta Boon Buffet. We liked it as it's tasty and very reasonably priced.
But I'm curious whether there's other options available. There were quite a few buffet in Chiang Mai but they looked a bit heavy and of course the price was more too. Then I came across this buffet on YouTube. It looks just like the one we went to. Location wise it's closer to our hotel. So we decided to give this one a try.
This buffet restaurant is behind Lanna Hospital. Once you see Lanna Hospital you should slow down or you'll miss the entrance to the road. From there just follow direction based on Google Maps. It's a big restaurant with plenty of parking space. Though it's easily filled up during lunch time.
We went there earlier to avoid lunch crowd as mentioned on Google reviews. True enough. By the time we were done and waiting for our ride, people started pouring in. Parking lot got filled up and cars directed to park on the street.
In term of food, it's almost the same as the other buffet. Except the dishes used here were ceramic. I didn't quite like the melamine bowls used at the other buffet. The price was the same THB 99 (USD 2.8). But with the same price here there were more food offered. There are two types of khanom jeen, regular white and green khanom jeen. Also the sauce used here had more meat. Chicken khao soi got more chicken in the curry. Soft drinks provided as well.
I think the value of money is better because the location is a bit out of the way. While the Ta Boon buffet was very close to Maya Mall. The only thing I missed from Ta Boon buffet was their spring roll. The crunchiness of those spring roll served just piping hot were perfect condiments to the khanom jeen.
