We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Central which is a big chain mall in Thailand. There's a Central in Chiang Rai and we love it. It has food court and supermarket where we can find a lot of imported items. From sparkling water to various kinds of snacks.
After checking in, we received a key card with the instruction to change elevator on 2nd floor because our room is at a different building. Navigating this hotel for the first time was a bit confusing as there are two buildings altogether. The lobby is located at an older building and a second building with newer design of rooms is connected to it. The connecting level is also where the pool, gym and cafe Dara are located.
Anyway, when we got to our room, it's already cool. Apparently there was another key card left in the room to get the room ready for us. We loved this as it was pretty hot and humid outside. Our room has a balcony with view to Central. It is also facing the six lane road outside though so every now and then we could hear loud noise from vehicles passing by.
The wall in our room were adorned with posters of classic Thai movies. We did not have any Thai friends with us so nobody to tell us what movies were those. Maybe those were the hit movies at their time. ð
Room was pretty big with plenty of counter to put our bags. Balcony also has a set of chairs and small table for anyone to sit out and have a cup of coffee. Swimming pool is not exactly olympic size but it's still pretty decent. For the duration of our stay, the swimming pool has been pretty empty. Gym was decent size with cool air con. The only problem was some of its equipment were not working anymore. That's sad.
