Popular restaurant near Phuket Old Town for hokkien mee. I was checking out the map and found this place with plenty of reviews. It looked interesting so I took hubby there.
They close around 5:30. So by the time we got there it's very close to their closing time. One of the items I saw on the review was chicken satay with some peanut sauce. But unfortunately sold out for the day. So we ordered hokkien mee and rad na with a stir fry fish dish.
It was a very hot day so sitting there with fans blowing around us didn't really cool us off at all. After a while sweats started dripping down.😓 Be warned if you can't handle eating without air conditioner, this place is not for you !
The rad na (stir fry rice noodle with gravy sauce) was just standard. Nothing special. It was a bit darker than usual but taste wise nothing special. Hokkien mee looked very similar to rad na with thick gravy. Unfortunately because I ordered with sen yai (wide rice noodle) so it ended up looking like rad na. I think the original hokkien mee supposed to be yellow noodle. So this hokkien mee was just fine and not too special.
I guess this place is like an old establishment. One of the wall had picture of the grandfather who started the business in 1946. Next to it was picture of the second generation back in 1982. And last one was the grandson in the 2000s.
