Triple E Hotel Metro Ben Thanh - Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Our first stop in this Vietnam trip supposed to be Dalat. But it seems that there's no way to fly straight to Dalat but to go through Ho Chi Minh. Accidentally booked at this hotel since it's located at District 1. But we didn't realize that getting there could take almost one hour. It didn't help that we arrived in Ho Chi Minh during rush hour and it was Friday evening.

When we reached the hotel, I saw two different buildings for the hotel. Thinking that it should be the same, especially because I saw the receptionist area by the entrance, we walked in to the closest one. After checking our credentials, we were told that we should check in at the other building. 

Check-in process was fast and we were led to our room. The receptionist was friendly and spoke good English. I happened to ask him how long does it take to get to airport. He told us 30 mins. I replied but it was one hour just now to get here. He then said it's because it's rush hour. Okay. So we didn't need to leave hotel at 8 am in the morning to catch our flight the following day.

Our room was pretty big and looked newish. There was some shelving to the right of the room with a safety box. This area is a bit small for my carry on suitcase because of the safety box. Walking in a bit more is the bed to the right against the wall. While facing the bed, there was a rolling door to the bathroom on the right side of the bed. There was a painting depicting a cathedral on the wall above the bed. The room was mainly in greyish hue. We have view to the street in front. Thankfully the road in front wasn't very busy and noisy. It's a bit different from Ho Chi Minh that we knew from 10 years ago.

Walking in the bathroom, the sink was to the right of the entrance. Further in is the shower area. The shower area was huge. The sink was bigger than standard with a non-standard faucet. 😀 On the counter there was a non discreet box which looked just like a platform but I noticed there was a handle. When I pulled it out it's actually a mini drawer with amenities like comb, tooth brushes, etc.
