Phở Thìn Hội An - Hoi An, Vietnam

It was another chilly day in Hoi An. I missed the hot pot we had in Dalat. I thought of the corner restaurant near our hotel which offered hot pot on their menu. But after a not so satisfactory dinner experience the previous night, I decided we should give other restaurant a try.

So I searched Google maps again. Then I came across this restaurant again. I remember seeing it the other day when we were looking for inspiration. This time I remembered seeing they have hot pot even though it's a noodle restaurant. Yay !

We bundled up to walk there. It's not as windy as previous night but still pretty chilly for tropical weather. Who seriously would have thought that it could get this chilly in Vietnam ? We were so NOT prepared.

As we walked in, we saw a man being taken away in a car. He looked unwell. Hopefully not because of the food from this restaurant. There were about two tables occupied when we walked in and it's still pretty early for dinner.

The menu actually had more options for hot pot than expected. There were beef option, misc beef, oxtail etc. There was also option for spicy mala broth. If hot pot isn't your thing, then opt for regular beef noodle soup. They also have plenty varieties to choose from.

The beef and mushroom hot pot package (lau bo nam tuoi) we chose gave us a platter of miscellaneous beef. We also received enoki, king oyster mushroom, some herbs, a piece of instant noodle and some cut up tofu. Overall seemed pretty decent spread.

I started our broth with the corn on the cob provided. Then we slowly worked ourselves into the meat. Careful not to overcooked the beef. Too bad there was not much dipping sauce provided other than the chili sauce for the noodle soup.

Total spent with no drinks VND 289k (USD 11.20).
