Super Yum Cha - Jakarta, Indonesia
Central Market is located at PIK 2. First time we went there was when we were in the neighborhood. We thought the concept was interesting because the second floor was partially open air. It may be suitable for cooler climate area but for Jakarta I thought was not very suitable.
But anyhow there was a big supermarket there, Grand Lucky, which carries quite a lot of foreign items. So one day as we wanted to visit Grand Lucky I looked at the list of restaurants there and found Super Yumcha.
Super Yumcha is located on the second floor of Central Market. Most of the tenants on second floor were restaurants with varieties of cuisine.
Super Yum Cha offers indoor seating area with air conditioner and also outdoor areas for people who prefer to enjoy fresh air. The theme is 80's diner with colorful neon light.
When we arrived it was pretty late so we chose the indoor seating. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. Menus brought out and distributed. It was pretty busy as it's still within long holidays of Moslem's Lebaran.
The menu offered lots of interesting options. Some dishes that were not common to other dimsum places like shaved ice dessert and warm dessert. So we had our eyes on those. In the end we tried sheng jian bao, bbq chicken and combo pork roast and char siu. For carbs we added cheong fan (rice roll) and lobak xo (stir fry rice cake with XO sauce) along with fried rice noodle (char kway teow).

By now, I got picky and I changed my view on their sheng jian bao. The pork filling was reddish and tasted more like charsiu. I think I won't be ordering their sheng jian bao anymore. Also the soy milk was so tiny. You could practically gulp it in one shot. 😓
