Barbecue Buffet 梅先森烤肉·点单式自助(五华大厦店) - Kunming, China

Ever since we left Jakarta, our meals have been pretty light. Hubby brought up idea of going for barbecue. We happened to see some sign posted in the area just outside our hotel. We searched the map near our hotel to see what options were available. In the end we had our eyes set on this restaurant.

We got there earlier just around 17:30. The sign outside showed that there were two prices available. The basic package for RMB 99 (USD 13.81) per person. And the premium was I think RMB 139 (USD 19.39). Premium package allows better cut beef. But I convinced hubby that the basic package was good for us. It allows access to drinks, some precooked dishes like fried chicken, fried rice and lots of options for pork and beef.

I was quite amazed with the drink selections as they all came in bottles. So many different types. I didn't try since I didn't want to try to figure out what's in those drinks. I brought water from the hotel. 😅 Hubby grab a bottle of drink that looked like lemonade. There was also lettuce and sauce for grab in the refrigerated area.

This was the second restaurant that we were supposed to scan to order and pay. But again, it seemed to be linked to Meituan app for food ordering. We didn't have good luck with Meituan so far. Luckily we had better luck with Alipay and Wechatpay. So the manager rang us up manually and we paid using Wechatpay.

This restaurant did not have the items out in the open. We have to order what items we wanted even though it's all you can eat. Since we could not order through Meituan I flagged one of the waitress and had her order for us.

Surprisingly the waitress also helped us cooked our food. It's good that we just had to focus on eating. 😋But at the same time it's also awkward to have someone cooked for us. The waitresses all looked very young. The girl that helped us cook called me "Aunty" and told me that our meat was ready for consumption. 😅
