We had our family weekend gathering here. As we got closer I saw Breville and I looked at the restaurant name once again ensuring we were entering the correct establishment. As we walked in I realized that only one side of the area was used for dining and the other half was shared by other businesses. We got there exactly at 12 and there were other groups in front of us waiting to be seated.
We ordered the signature chiffon rice, XO dry noodle, wonton noodle soup, beef noodle soup, porridge and two bolo buns. They also offer quite a selection of drinks from simple hot or ice tea to yin yang coffee. For non coffee drinkers they also have hot milk and soy milk.
Our orders came out relatively fast. The chiffon rice was rice with light fluffy omelette and topping of prawn and crispy roast pork. There was also some sort of gravy on top of all the omelette and toppings.
There were a few noodle dishes on the menu and we got both dry and noodle soup. The noodle used in both dry and soup version was the same thin noodle. I found this noodle a bit too thin for Hong Kong style noodle. My wonton noodle soup was just right saltiness but the wonton was pathetic. Just one prawn in the very fragile wonton skin. The XO dry noodle looked a bit dark like the Malaysian version of wonton noodle. But unlike the Malaysian version, this noodle was too salty. I think they used the wrong type of soy sauce. 😝
Let's move on to the bolo buns. The bolo buns on the menu looked pretty good but ours didn't look like the ones on the menu. Our bolo buns were a bit flat. We felt cheated. 😒
The porridge came with preserved mustard green, shredded chicken and a side of cut up fried dough stick. The consistency looked a bit too thick for Hong Kong style porridge. The color was a bit brownish and a bit too salty as well. I think the preserved mustard green added to the saltiness.
Total bill came to IDR 933.200,- with built-in tips which was about USD
