Yeow Kee Kopitiam - Kuching, Malaysia
Strategically, this food center is next door to Ji Xiang 101 Kopitiam, making it a hot spot for breakfast and lunch. They offer a varieties of items from traditional snacks, breakfast items like toast to heavier items like beef noodle.
I tried the popiah (veggie roll) here and it's delicious. A bit sweet and spicy depends on whether you requested it spicy. For the beef noodle, the dry version had a more intense flavor than (I believe) the soup version. The amount of beef was decent. It also came with a bowl of dark broth. I liked it dry but if you like it soupy maybe try the soup version.
The cheese naan came with a small container of butter. I took out the butter and lather it on before attempting to cut through it. It's not easy to cut through it due to the thickness of the cheese. So I used my hands and pulled it apart. The melted cheese looked gooey and yummy. I took a bite and surprisingly it tasted very much like pizza and not naan.
I thought it would taste like quesadilla with thicker bread portion. But no, this cheese naan has a thin layer of bread. So if you like cheese you would totally enjoy this. Even hubby who usually don't enjoy much of quesadilla liked this cheese naan. Totally unexpected.
The Ceylonese Restaurant also has a chicken biryani dish. Do try it if you like biryani rice.
I don't have pictures here, but this food center has a very rich and flaky sio bao (baked pastry). Their version has potato (?) filling with very soft flaky pastry layers. Unlike other sio bao pastry which usually has thicker dryer flaky.
