Banana Bro @ Paradigm Mall - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
This is our second visit to Banana Bro though at different location. Our first visit was last year when we went to Mid Valley Megamall. It was unplanned and we happened to pass by and thought it's interesting to give it a try.
This time as we were visiting Petaling Jaya again I was craving banana leaf style rice. I thought of Banana Bro so I looked up the location. What a coincidence the closest location was across the street from us at Paradigm Mall. Aha it's meant to be !😍
Then I searched their menu online and found out that they have promotion for Hari Kebangsaan (Malaysia's Independence Day). The promo would end August 31 (I think if I remember it correctly). It's a Buy One Get One. Not bad indeed.
We picked a Friday evening to visit and surprisingly it was pretty busy. I'm sure we were not the only ones taking advantage of the promotion. Which was good because a few nights earlier when we passed by this shop, it was pretty dead.
When we sat down we confirmed with the staff that the set we were going to order was indeed covered by the promotion. We also added an order of chicken varuval.
Then the banana leaf was brought out and set in front of us. Another staff brought up the rice pot and started to distributing the rice. I stopped him before he piled up more rice on my banana leaf. Hubby was hungry so he had a bigger pile of rice. 😂
For the "craving set", we received white rice as much as we could handle. Some fritters which I thought tasted like zucchini ? Cabbage curry and cucumber achar. Then four different types of curry. I could not quite taste which was better. In fact the veggie side dish was flavorful enough to go with rice so I didn't use much of the curry sauce. Beside with the amount of rice I had I won't need much curry sauce.
Total bill was around RM 27 (USD 6.42). More of a heavier carb meal and not much protein.
