Lunch in The Cloud - Mount Wudang, China
On second day at Wudang Mountain, as we were wondering where to go, a man approached us to promote his restaurant. We were just outside Purple Heaven Palace 紫霄宫 and it was foggy around us. There were food stalls and shops around as well. This man told us that his family runs a restaurant close by why not stop by to eat first.
We followed this man along a small road just next to one of the shops. It winded down pretty far from the main road. Luckily finally it did get to an established area that looked like a homestay. He also mentioned that other than restaurant, his family runs a homestay as well.
The restaurant didn't really have a menu. A lady brought us to an outdoor refrigerator and showed us what they have. While showing the ingredients, she suggested what could be done with pork, chicken or fish. We selected a chicken and two types of vegetables. One of the veggies was the one we have eaten previously and we liked it.
The man that brought us there said good bye to us because he needed to go out to get more clients. Mean while we were seated in the restaurant. The restaurant actually had two private rooms ! Not bad.
The vegetables came out first with a big bowl of rice. I believe rice in China is charged per person and their pretty generous with rice. So you better eat more. The chicken was boiled in soup then taken out and stir fry with bean sauce and ginger. Not too sure about the bean sauce but it tasted like it. Delicious.
