Chongqing Ashan Riverview Hotel 重庆亚善高空江景酒店

Even though I was a bit skeptical about the taxi we got into at Chongqingbei station but we arrived at our hotel with no issue. I have watched another video on this hotel before and the downstairs of the building looked correct. 

The hotel itself is located inside a tall building along with a few other hotels. Many other hotels in fact. And the front desk of Ashan Riverview Hotel is located on 21st floor. There's a gym and also a breakfast area on the 21st floor as well. 

We got a room on the 32th floor on the first two days of our stay. Later on we switched a different type of room and received a room on the 26th floor. There are different elevators assigned to different floors. To get to 32th floor we needed to go to 21st floor and then switched to another set of elevators that would take us to 32th floor.

The first room we got on 32th floor faced the river side of Chongqing (Yangtze River) and offered colorful glitzy night view. The room on 26th floor faced the other side of river so we had view of the city. Not as colorful but still full of neon color.

Beside the view from the room which was spectacular, the location of our hotel was close to a lot of tourist attractions like Hongya Cave 洪崖洞, Eighteen Steps 十八梯, Kuixing Tower 魁星楼, etc. In fact, we were able to check out a few items out of sightseeing destinations on the first day just by walking around. Next door to the hotel is exit number one of Chao Tian Men 朝天门 station.

We didn't buy breakfast for the duration of our stay there as the amount charged was a bit more than we think it's worth. There are plenty of small restaurants in the area where one could get breakfast from. Also there's a Lawson downstairs where we could pick up breakfast items like steamed buns, tea eggs, etc.

The hotel rooms did show sign of wear and tear. A room refresh is overdue. Both rooms are loft style so after the ooh and aah of the view worn off, we felt tired of going up and down to our bedroom. The staircase felt a bit unsafe at some areas. The first room even had a bathtub by the window downstairs next to the staircase.
