Shi San Dai - Jakarta, Indonesia

This restaurant looked pretty new and one review mentioned that when they visited there was a promotion offered.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon for lunch. Parking was available in front of the restaurant. There were about two tables occupied. It was a long holiday after Christmas so I thought it was quite common as the road also looked quiet.

As we received the menu we were notified that for every 300k we would receive a free item of our choices. I think the selection for free items were only charsiu bao and shrimp shumai.

We tried lomaikai, steam tofu skin, shuijao in chili oil, taro bao , chasiu puff, fried cheongfan, fried daikon cake and also fried rice. All those provided us two free items and we chose char siu bao and shrimp shumai.

Most of the dimsum items were just standard. Not terrible but nothing to write home about either. Except for lomaikai which was a bit too plain and fried daikon cake which was too deep fried.

The star of the meal were fried rice with chicken katsu (nasi goreng bistik ayam) and fried cheong fan (cheong fan goreng). I think the chef for the stir fry has a strong wok and high BTU stove.
