Tak Bo Restaurant 得宝 - Penang, Malaysia

We were in the area looking at the varieties of items sold. From clothing, souvenirs, bags and suitcases to TCM herbal. The sun was up high and even though we had quite a heavy breakfast, our tummies finally called for help. There were too many options available but in the end we settled for this restaurant. It attracted our attention because there was a guy making dumplings just behind the glass window.

We ordered sichuan dandan noodle, fried koay teow, spicy wanton soup and a stir fried veggie. All ordering was done through phone by scanning a QR code. At the time we walked in there was a family of three occupying one of the tables. They seemed to be enjoying dumplings with rice. 😀

When we placed our order, we noted that the fried koay teow for take away and there was an additional charge for that. The funny thing was it was still brought to us as an eat-in presentation.

The food was delicious. The spicy wanton soup had some mala taste to it but not overly strong. The fried koay teow was not Penang style with belachan. It's funny that the fried koay teow in Penang is not Penang style. 😕 Dandan noodle was just the right chewiness and not too spicy.

All in all it was a decent meal. We spent RM 65.90 (USD 16.83) including two drinks.
