The Hungry Beast ss15 - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

We met up with our relatives here last week. It's Friday night and we agreed to 17:30 dinner. It's not their choice but that's the only time available.

We got there in time and I can see why reservation is needed. The place is not very big. Even with the patio area. And some part of the inside is taken for live music stage.

As we sat down a staff came over and told us that we would have our table until 19:00. I thought that should give us enough time. But then it also depends on whether everyone in your party arrive on time. And after that food ordering and food preparing also takes some time out of the allotted time.

We were not involved in the food ordering. We let our host ordered since they have been there a few times. When the food arrived we got different varieties of meat. From sausages, salmon, pork to braised beef.

We also had an order of pasta and caesar salad to share. I was worry that I would be overwhelmed with carbs but luckily in the end we were not super full because of the carbs amount. Other than the pasta, we had some carbs in the form of mashed potatoes with the braised beef. But the rest of the orders did not have carbs in it.

A few people in our group mentioned that the pork was a bit dry. But I actually enjoyed it. The braised beef though for the most part was pretty tender but there was some tendon which made it a bit chewy.

But I think the beef still win the points due to the gravy that came with it.

We did not pay the bill but roughly from the menu we saw online, each plate cost between MYR 45-60 (USD 11-16). It's the price to pay for enjoying western food here in Malaysia. I think it's worth it. Too bad the protein plate doesn't come with a small amount of veggies. I think the salmon and pork plates look a bit empty.
