Pho Ton - Vancouver, Washington

Accidentally found this noodle place when we were driving from Costco to Thai Wok Kitchen. Hubby almost couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the word “Pho”. He loves pho !

Years ago on our first road trip we stumbled upon a Chinese restaurant that made us very wary of any restaurants we come across during our road trip. After that trip I decided it’s safer to search for Thai restaurants if we want to venture out of Costco food court and McDonald’s.

So even though the sight of Pho Ton was intriguing we were approaching it with caution. Hubby said let’s check out the restaurant first and decide afterwards. I pulled into the parking lot. The restaurant shared parking lot with a Mexican groceries. It looked decent from outside. And the restaurant got good reviews on Google and Yelp. So we thought why not give it a try.

When we walked in we heard a voice welcoming and asking us to take a seat. But I couldn’t see who was talking. Then I realized there was this lady behind the counter. The place was not very big and it got divider in the middle to give more privacy. There were like a couple of tables occupied so it was a good sign.

Our order took a while to arrive because two of their staffs were on break. But as soon as they were back and they caught up to the orders we got our food. I ordered a simple beef noodle soup with tripe and tendon. Hubby got a seafood noodle soup. We ordered a fresh tofu roll and a fresh pork and shrimp roll.

The noodle soup was better than expected. I had low expectation and I chose the most simple dish which I assumed they would not mess up. Hubby enjoyed his noodle soup as well. He agreed it was better than expected. The rolls were both tasty as well.

We'll keep this place in mind next time when we are in the area. It's pretty close to the Thai Wok Kitchen that we like to go.
