Still open for take out : Newton Beef Noodle - Richmond, BC

When we first moved to this neighborhood we had checked out this restaurant. Please read the original posting here. And recently we also did a take out of their chicken popcorn so we know that they're still open for business.

Just a few days ago when we thought of doing take out we decided to order from them. There was an older menu on Google so we used that to call in our orders. We ordered special beef noodle soup (红烧牛肉面), minced pork with rice (卤肉饭) and popcorn chicken (盐酥鸡).

We called in the orders and was told they'll be ready in 10 minutes. Nice. The noodle broth was packed separately and we just poured it in when we are ready to eat. There were like 5 to 6 chunks of beef. They were so tender with just a right amount of texture. The broth was dark color with a bit hint of spices. The flavor was sort of mild.

The minced pork with rice we got was the combo version which came with braised egg and stir fry veggies. The stir fry veggies was nice and colorful - carrot, corn, cabbage and bean sprout. The colorful veggies made it looked very appetizing. The braised egg had a chewy texture just like how I remembered my mom's braised egg. There was also some chopped pickled mustard served side by side with the minced pork. The pork wasn't overly fatty. Delicious.

The popcorn chicken as usual was just amazing.
